Key Responsibilities

As an Administration Officer at Hunter Valley Private Hospital, you will be responsible for:

  • Providing exceptional administrative support to our team, including managing a busy reception desk and answering calls
  • Organizing appointments and preparing admission paperwork with attention to detail
  • Maintaining accurate and effective record management systems, including preparation of medical records
  • Performing Health Fund Checks and managing the collection of excesses/co payments
  • Coordinating with staff from other departments to ensure seamless communication
  • Completing other clerical tasks such as data entry with a high level of accuracy

Hunter Valley Private Hospital is a 83 bed facility located on the fringe of Newcastle, offering a variety of surgical, medical and rehabilitation services. To be successful in this role, you will need to possess:

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Highly developed organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate records
  • Experience in MS Office (Outlook, Word, and Excel) and web-based systems
  • Flexibility to work a variety of shifts, including early/late shifts and weekend work
