As a key expert in heritage management, you will be responsible for providing authoritative guidance to senior leaders and overseeing the annual program of Conservation Management Planning. You will also play a crucial role in delivering the Heritage Asset Management Strategy and represent the university in high-level negotiations with regulators, government agencies, and other stakeholders.

This position requires exceptional leadership skills, as well as the ability to navigate complex regulatory environments and prioritize tasks effectively to meet deadlines. You will lead a specialist team and collaborate closely with university planning functions to support strategic initiatives and planning approvals.

The successful candidate will possess postgraduate qualifications in a relevant field or an equivalent combination of training and experience. They will also have knowledge of NSW Heritage Act 1977 and relevant State Environmental Planning Policies. Additionally, they will have excellent organisational and time management skills, with a demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritise effectively.

Key responsibilities include resolving complex heritage planning issues, providing expert heritage advice, leading and managing specialised heritage projects, and ensuring the accurate recording and maintenance of the heritage status of buildings, properties, sites, and objects.
