Job Opportunity

Join our team as a Professional Officer to manage the Cultural Heritage node of Sydney Analytical.

This role offers a unique chance to work on technical operations, supervising and maintaining portable instruments associated with cultural heritage. You will provide expert knowledge in vibrational spectroscopy and XRF techniques applicable to research projects.

  • Key responsibilities include:
  • Managing the Cultural Heritage Node of Vibrational Spectroscopy within Sydney Analytical
  • Managing and maintaining portable instruments associated with the cultural heritage node
  • Providing expert knowledge in vibrational spectroscopy and XRF techniques applicable to Cultural Heritage Research
  • Ensuring maintenance of Workplace Health and Safety records
  • Facilitating effective communication with cultural heritage stakeholders and researchers

Required skills and experience include:

  • Extensive expertise in operation of advanced vibrational spectroscopic equipment
  • Understanding of cultural sensitivities and requirements for human ethics approvals
  • Computer skills in high-end chemometric analysis
  • Excellent time management and workload prioritization skills
  • Attention to detail and awareness of issues related to commercially sensitive information
  • Experience working in the Galleries, Libraries, Archives, and Museums sector or with heritage materials
