Heritage Consultant Position

This role involves leading the technical management of proposals and projects with an increasing level of complexity and value. Effective project management skills, along with compliance, technical quality, and delivery are key focus areas. The successful candidate will also be responsible for marketing Niche's services and developing client relationships.

The position requires a high level of technical output and collaboration with senior team members to ensure Project Delivery Excellence. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of NSW heritage legislation and approvals processes.

The Heritage Consultant will work closely with clients across diverse industries to address their environmental and social challenges. Key responsibilities include preparing Heritage Impact Statements (HIS), Cultural Heritage Management Plans (CHMPs), and due diligence assessments. They will also conduct Aboriginal and historical heritage assessments, engage with Traditional Owner groups, government agencies, and industry stakeholders, and provide strategic advice on heritage compliance in NSW.

To be successful in this role, you will need to have efficient and effective project management skills, as well as excellent written and verbal communication skills. You will also need to be able to work independently and as part of a collaborative team. A valid driver's licence is required, and full Australian working rights are essential.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Honours or equivalent degree in Archaeology, Heritage Management, or related discipline.
  • Minimum 9 years of experience in heritage consulting, with a focus on renewables or infrastructure projects.
  • Strong understanding of NSW heritage legislation and approvals processes.
  • Demonstrated experience conducting fieldwork and stakeholder consultation.
