Job Title: Heritage Expert

We are seeking a skilled professional to join our team in Perth, Western Australia.

The successful candidate will support and deliver projects of varied scale and complexity, providing opportunities to grow their skillset in a multidisciplinary environment.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Manage heritage advice and approvals processes for diverse projects across Western Australia and nationally.
  • Work on projects spanning property and buildings, transport, water, energy, and resources, and environment sectors.
  • Investigate and report on a wide range of heritage matters, including statutory approvals and consultation with Traditional Owners, through field and desktop work.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, internal specialists, sub-consultants, government departments, agencies, and local councils.
  • Support the continued development of technical skills through mentorship and training.
  • Develop and support new business opportunities within the cultural heritage sector across Western Australia and nationally.

Requirements:

  • A minimum of 2 years and up to 15 years of experience across heritage approval processes in Western Australia.
  • Experience with the Environment Protection and Biodiversity Conservation Act 1999 is preferred but not required.
  • A Bachelor's degree, and Honours or postgraduate qualifications in archaeology, cultural heritage management, or a related field.
  • Experience in a consulting environment is strongly preferred, with a natural ability to build positive client relationships and openness to identifying and developing new business.
  • A current Western Australian driver's license.
