System Safety Engineer Position

We are seeking a skilled and experienced System Safety professional to assist with our Canberra-based projects.

The ideal candidate will bring specialist expertise in System Safety, conducting discussions, working groups and ad-hoc meetings as scheduled, and providing support to plan and execute Configuration Management.

They will also provide support for System Safety Requirements Management, Verification & Validation, Test & Evaluation Management, and Material System definition, and documentation of any project-unique elements in a supplement to the FAMSPO Engineering Management Plan.

The successful candidate will have knowledge of Defence Writing standards and internal Defence processes, as well as the ability to work autonomously, multi-task and demonstrate an ability to meet demanding milestones.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support the development of the System Safety Program for FAMSPO projects.
  • Provide specialist guidance on addressing System Safety issues.
  • Conduct and participate in System Safety discussions, working groups and ad-hoc meetings.
  • Support the planning and execution of Configuration Management.
  • Support the conduct of System Safety Requirements Management.
  • Support the conduct of Verification & Validation, Test & Evaluation Management, and Material System definition.
Requirements
  • Essential:
    • Knowledge of Defence Writing standards.
    • Knowledge of internal Defence processes.
    • Ability to work independently, manage multiple tasks and meet challenging deadlines.
  • Desirable:
    • Experience in System Safety within the Defence or Aerospace industries.
