System Safety Manager and Senior Systems Engineer

The team operates in a technically complex environment where precision, collaboration, and continuous improvement are highly valued.

This role supports national capability development within a fast-evolving digital landscape, driving the advancement of systems safety principles.

  • Define and maintain a comprehensive Systems Safety Program Plan to ensure optimal system performance.
  • Conduct thorough safety assessments in collaboration with product teams, identifying potential risks and implementing mitigating strategies.
  • Support design approvals and technical assurance for product releases, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards.
  • Lead configuration management activities through the Configuration Manager, facilitating efficient system updates and maintenance.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of engineering and release processes, enhancing overall system reliability and performance.
  • Deliver education and workshops on systems safety and engineering practices, fostering a culture of excellence within the organization.
  • Identify safety requirements and their impact on system design, ensuring seamless integration of safety features.
  • Engage with stakeholders to ensure documentation and reporting standards are met, promoting transparency and accountability throughout the system development process.

Key skills and qualifications include:

  • Engineering degree in IT, Networking, Computing, or Electrical/Electronic disciplines, with a strong foundation in mathematical and scientific principles.
  • Certified SAFe Practitioner (can be completed upon engagement), demonstrating expertise in Agile methodologies and systems thinking.
  • Experience in systems safety assurance programs, with a proven track record of identifying and mitigating safety risks.
  • Familiarity with technical regulatory frameworks and agile systems engineering processes, enabling seamless integration of safety features into system design.
