Job Overview

A senior leadership role is available in our dynamic laboratory, where you will be responsible for managing the team to provide an efficient and effective service across various operational areas.

This position involves leading a high-performing team, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, and driving strategic planning initiatives to improve laboratory efficiency and effectiveness.

You will have extensive experience in Haematology and a proven track record of delivering results in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operational Management: Oversee the day-to-day activities of the laboratory, ensuring that all tasks are completed efficiently and effectively.
  • Compliance Management: Ensure that the laboratory is compliant with all relevant regulatory requirements, including quality management systems and data protection regulations.
  • Financial Planning and Reporting: Develop and manage budgets, forecasts, and reports to ensure that the laboratory is operating within its means.
  • Department Performance Monitoring and Reporting: Analyze performance metrics and provide regular reports to stakeholders on laboratory performance.
Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Tertiary qualifications in Science or Medical Laboratory Science, with subjects relevant to pathology or an equivalent recognized qualification.
  • Proven leadership and operational management skills and experience, including budget management, staff and resource management, and maintenance of professional standards and accreditation.
  • Extensive experience in Haematology, with demonstrated understanding of Routine Haematology, Coagulation, Flow Cytometry, and Morphology.
  • Experience with quality improvement and risk management, including understanding of relevant legislative and regulatory requirements in healthcare.
  • Experience in change management and use of financial, statistical, human resources, and management data to improve laboratory efficiency and effectiveness.
