Remuneration: $139,867.79 - $147,542.73 per annum plus superannuation

What You'll Be Doing

Responsible for managing the laboratory to provide an efficient and effective service across operational management, compliance management, financial planning and reporting, department performance monitoring and reporting, corporate risk management, human resources management and strategic planning. This role involves testing across Full Blood Counts, Coagulation, Special Haemostasis, Morphology, Flow Cytometry and Cellular Therapies, contributing to high-quality patient care in a 24/7 Haematology Laboratory.

What We're Looking For / Qualifications
  • Tertiary qualifications of at least a Bachelor Degree in Science/Medical Laboratory Science, or equivalent qualification relevant to Medical Laboratory Science or pathology specialty
  • Proven leadership and operational management skills, including budget management, staff and resource management, and maintenance of professional standards and accreditation
  • Extensive experience in haematology with understanding of Routine Haematology, Coagulation, Flow Cytometry and Morphology
  • Experience with quality improvement and risk management and knowledge of healthcare regulatory requirements
  • Experience in change management with use of financial, statistical, HR and management data to improve laboratory efficiency
  • Strategic thinking and professional networks in pathology relevant to the laboratory; understanding of public laboratories within Australian and NSW health systems
  • Advanced knowledge of Laboratory Information Systems, Microsoft Office and Quality Management Systems with data analysis skills
  • Commitment to excellent customer service with strong interpersonal, communication, negotiation and stakeholder collaboration skills
