Job Opportunity

This is a challenging and rewarding opportunity for an Urban Planning Professional to join our multi-disciplinary project teams on a permanent basis, working from either Wollongong or Sydney offices.

As a key member of our project teams, you will contribute to delivering projects that transform communities across New South Wales. You will also have the opportunity to work independently on your own projects.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Utilize expertise in urban planning research, data analysis, and report writing, with a comprehensive understanding of NSW urban planning and environmental legislation.
  • Act as project manager, leading the planning, programming, and coordination of projects to ensure outputs meet or exceed agreed goals.
  • Develop project plans and strategies for major projects, including identification of business resource requirements.
  • Manage or assist with the preparation of strategies, reports, environmental impact assessments, and other planning documentation and submissions on behalf of clients.
  • Undertake technical and quality reviews of documentation prepared by the planning team to ensure it meets or exceeds client expectations.
  • Lead and assist with the preparation of tender documentation.
  • Foster client relationships and identify business opportunities.
  • Grow, develop, and mentor junior staff.
Requirements:
  • Tertiary qualifications in Urban and Regional Planning or Architecture/Urban Design, or an equivalent combination of education and related experience.
  • Proficiency in urban planning research, data analysis, and report writing.
  • Extensive experience in statutory or strategic planning, preferably within NSW.
  • Self-motivated and self-directed.
  • Interest in working on a broad variety of projects.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills to liaise with the team, managers, and clients.
  • Commitment to self-improvement and continuing professional development.
  • Drive and passion to solve problems and produce innovative solutions.
