Disability Inclusion is a key aspect of our organisation's commitment to diversity and inclusion. As a Disability Inclusion Officer, you will play a vital role in supporting students with disabilities, health conditions, or mental health challenges to access and engage in their education.
About the RoleThe Disability Inclusion Officer works closely with students, staff, and external support services to ensure equitable access to learning. This includes advising on best inclusive practices, facilitating reasonable adjustments, and negotiating alternative assessments.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to promote best practices in inclusion and accessibility.
- Facilitate reasonable adjustments and alternative assessments to support student success.
- Engage with students regularly through face-to-face meetings, phone, or video consultations to ensure ongoing support.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with a diverse range of stakeholders, including students, staff, and external support networks.
- Liaise with external service providers to enhance student outcomes.
- Deliver presentations at information sessions, promoting inclusive practices and available support services.
To succeed in this role, you will need exceptional interpersonal skills and the ability to relate to individuals from a variety of backgrounds. Your understanding of diverse learning needs, combined with strong relationship-building skills, will ensure positive outcomes for students.
