
Senior Information Management Specialist

This exciting role involves leading the delivery of strategic projects to enhance digital and physical records management. As a key team member, you will play a critical role in establishing and embedding the Records Champions Network across our organisation.
You will provide expert guidance on information management legislation and policy compliance, ensuring that records are effectively managed throughout the organisation.
About the RoleThis opportunity combines project coordination with change leadership, stakeholder engagement, and strategic communication. You will identify business needs and opportunities for change, gather and analyse requirements, and translate complex issues into clear digital strategies and goals.
- Plan, coordinate, and deliver records-related projects, including resource management, vendor coordination, compliance tracking, and reporting on outcomes.
- Establish and lead the Records Champions Network, providing training, support, and guidance to ensure consistent records management across all units.
- Engage and communicate with stakeholders, building strong relationships and implementing communication strategies to promote project awareness and support.
- Deliver training and ensure compliance, including appraising records for retention/disposal and aligning with legislative and policy requirements.
To be successful in this role, you will require:
- Relevant postgraduate qualifications and/or extensive experience in records management, project coordination, training, or a related field, ideally within the higher education sector.
- Proven ability to deliver complex projects within large or multifaceted organisations, preferably in an education or similarly structured environment.
- Strong communication and training skills, with experience developing and distributing materials across diverse and complex organisational settings.
- Demonstrated stakeholder engagement expertise, working effectively with a wide range of internal and external parties to achieve shared goals.
- Sound knowledge of Australian records and archives legislation, particularly the Public Records Act 1973 (Vic), and its application in organisational contexts.
