Job Summary

A DevOps Specialist is required for a long-term contract opportunity in the federal government. The role involves executing change requests, assessing risks, and ensuring infrastructure security.

  • Level 1, Level 2 and Level 3 support for IT systems
  • Executing the change request lifecycle: registering, assessing, authorising, planning and deploying
  • Assessing risks and reducing risks to the availability, performance, security and compliance of products and services impacted by the change
  • Planning and managing hardware and software maintenance
  • Automating tasks through scripting, coding, orchestration tools and infrastructure as code (IaC) practices
  • Ensuring infrastructure security through regular updates, patch management and adherence to cybersecurity policies and established industry practices
Key Responsibilities
  • Provision, deployment and configuration of infrastructure services and components
  • Monitoring infrastructure for load, performance and security, reporting metrics and resolving operational issues
  • Execution of standard operational procedures, including backups and restorations
  • Carrying out agreed system software maintenance
  • Automation of routine system administration tasks to specifications using standard tools and basic scripting
  • Maintenance and optimisation of technology infrastructure, execution of updates and employment of automation tools

This position requires an Australian Citizen with NV1 clearance or the ability to obtain it.
