Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled Culinary Professional to join our team as a Demi Chef. As a key member of the culinary team, you will be responsible for assisting senior chefs with menu preparation, maintaining excellent presentation standards, and ensuring cost control.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Support senior Chefs in preparing menus and ensure adequate supplies are available for expected service
  • Maintain high standards of presentation and cost efficiency
  • Implement and maintain programs to ensure exceptional cleanliness and organisation within the kitchen
  • Lead by example, setting a positive tone for the team
  • Supervise the kitchen in the absence of the Head chef or allocated Chefs
  • Delegate tasks and responsibilities to kitchen employees to meet service demands
  • Minimise food waste through effective planning and management
Qualifications and Skills:
  • Previous experience in a similar role, preferably in the hospitality industry
  • Trade qualification in commercial cookery or equivalent
  • Leadership experience within a professional kitchen environment
  • Demonstrated expertise in catering for dietary requirements and creating menus to suit those needs
  • Strong knowledge of food hygiene, HACCP management, and compliance with local health and safety regulations
  • A Food Safety Supervisor certificate is desirable
