Head Chef Role
We're seeking an accomplished and experienced Head Chef to lead our kitchen team in delivering exceptional cuisine and service to our guests.
This is a vital role where you'll play a key part in shaping our culinary offerings and setting the tone for our kitchen environment.
Main Responsibilities:
- Assist senior Chefs with menu planning, ensuring adequate supplies are available for expected service levels.
- Maintain high standards of presentation and cost control across all dishes.
- Implement and maintain rigorous programs to ensure cleanliness and organisation within the kitchen.
- Lead by example and set a positive tone for the team, promoting a culture of excellence and innovation.
- Supervise the kitchen in the absence of the Head Chef or allocated Chefs, delegating duties and responsibilities to kitchen staff as needed.
- Minimise food waste and contribute to a sustainable kitchen environment through effective resource management.
Key Qualifications:
- Previous experience in a similar role, preferably within the hospitality industry.
- Trade qualification in commercial cookery or equivalent, with a proven track record of success.
- Leadership experience within a professional kitchen environment, with a focus on driving results and growth.
- Demonstrated expertise in dietary requirements and creating menus that cater to diverse needs.
- Strong knowledge of food hygiene, HACCP management, and compliance with local health and safety regulations.
- Familiarity with Food Safety Supervisor certification is advantageous.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire team members.
- Creative culinary mind, up-to-date on local and international food trends, with a passion for innovation and experimentation.
- Flexibility to work varied shifts, including mornings, evenings, weekends, and public holidays.
- Full legal work rights to work in Australia must be held to be considered for this role.
