Job Title: Complex Claims Professional

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Complex Claims Professional to join our team. This is a unique opportunity to utilize your expertise in managing high-value and complex claims, providing strategic advice, and collaborating with internal legal teams and external counsel.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead complex liability and professional indemnity claims with strategic impact
  • Collaborate with legal teams, panel firms, and internal stakeholders
  • Drive resolution of high-value claims and contribute to technical excellence
  • Manage end-to-end claims across class actions, cluster claims, and high-value exposures
  • Provide strategic advice on policy interpretation, litigation, and claim resolution
  • Collaborate with internal legal teams, panel firms, and counsel to manage legal complexities
  • Attend mediations, settlement conferences, and court proceedings as required
  • Support technical oversight and mentoring within the Specialty claims team
  • Develop governance frameworks and reporting for emerging risks and financial impacts
  • Promote alignment of claims strategies across internal stakeholders
  • Contribute to process improvements and cost reduction initiatives

Qualifications:

  • Tertiary qualifications in law, business, or insurance (mandatory)
  • Industry qualifications such as Diploma in Financial Services (mandatory)
  • 5-10 years' experience managing complex liability or professional indemnity claims
  • Litigation experience, including briefing panel firms or direct involvement (mandatory)
  • Strong analytical, negotiation, and decision-making skills
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement capabilities
  • Experience mentoring and developing team members
  • Sound knowledge of relevant legislation and claims systems
