The Human Resources Generalist will play a pivotal role in supporting the employee life cycle from end to end, ensuring legislative compliance, fostering a positive work culture, and driving business growth through HR initiatives.

Key Responsibilities
  • Workforce Planning: Collaborate with Branch Management on workforce planning and staffing needs to ensure optimal resource allocation.
  • HR Support: Serve as the first point of contact for employees, providing expert advice and support on HR matters, including recruitment, onboarding, Workday navigation, and employee relations.
  • Policy Development: Ensure the consistent interpretation and application of HR policies, procedures, and guidelines across the organization, updating and creating new ones as needed.
  • Reporting and Analytics: Develop and maintain accurate HR reporting and analytics to inform business decisions, identifying trends and areas for process improvement.
  • Business Partnership: Build strong relationships with business leaders to establish strategic partnerships and drive HR initiatives that align with business objectives.
  • Industrial Relations: Provide valuable industrial relations and employee relations counsel to branch leaders, including disciplinary procedures, workplace investigations, and Enterprise Agreement interpretation and negotiations.
Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Experience: Proven experience in a related HR position, preferably in heavy industry, construction, or mining.
  • Qualifications: Qualification in Human Resources or a related discipline.
  • Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to adapt to changing demands.
  • Analytical Skills: Superior analytical skills to review and recommend change initiatives that improve employee resource management.
  • Change Management: Effective change management knowledge to support employees and leaders in HR change initiatives.
  • Legislative Knowledge: Knowledge and understanding of employment legislation, regulations, procedures, and standards within Australia.
