Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Payroll Director to lead our Finance team and drive business success. This is a challenging yet rewarding opportunity for a talented individual who is passionate about payroll management and leadership.

About the Role

The Payroll Director will be responsible for overseeing the entire payroll process, from initial planning to final execution. You will work closely with the Chief Financial Officer to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, industry awards, and internal policies. Your expertise in payroll principles, automated rostering systems, and employment law will be invaluable in driving process improvements and ensuring accuracy and confidentiality.

Key Responsibilities

  • Strategic Planning: Collaborate with senior leaders to develop and implement payroll strategies that align with the organisation's overall goals.
  • Leadership and Team Management: Lead and motivate the Finance team to achieve high levels of performance and productivity.
  • Process Improvement: Identify opportunities to enhance payroll processes, including automation and streamlining, to improve efficiency and reduce costs.
  • Communication and Stakeholder Management: Develop and maintain effective relationships with stakeholders, including employees, suppliers, customers, and regulatory bodies.
  • Tax Compliance and Reporting: Ensure accurate and timely preparation of payroll reports, tax returns, and other financial documents.

Skills and Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will require:

  • A minimum of 10 years' experience in payroll leadership roles.
  • Expertise in industry awards and payroll principles.
  • Knowledge of automated rostering systems.
  • Strong analytical, judgment, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to manage conflict and change.

Estimated Salary: $120,000 - $150,000 per annum (dependent on location and experience)
