Biospecimen Laboratory Manager Position Overview

Imagine working with us to deliver high-quality biospecimen laboratory services. As a Biospecimen Laboratory Manager, you will provide technical and operational support to ensure the effective operation of the NSW Regional Biospecimen Services laboratory.

This is a pivotal role within the Biospecimen Laboratory team, offering significant influence over the team's daily operations and allowing you to shape the laboratory's ethos.

The key responsibilities of this role include:

  1. Coordinating day-to-day biospecimen technical support services across Callaghan and HMRI based programs.
  2. Ensuring quality control of laboratory setups with strict adherence to protocols.
  3. Providing specialist advice and general assistance to staff and students on current biospecimen best practices.
  4. Offering direct operational support to the blood processing and biobanking teams.

This is a 12-month fixed-term full-time position located at the Hunter Medical Research Institute (Awabakal and Worimi land). There may be opportunities for extension.
