Job Overview

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Laboratory Coordinator to join our team.

Key Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Collecting, registering, and processing patient biomaterials according to established protocols.
  • Annotating and recording data on patients and samples received, including sample and patient information, consents, and clinically relevant details.
  • Maintaining laboratory equipment and adhering to high standards and policies.
  • General filing, including storage and biospecimens, forms, and archiving research materials.
  • Isolating DNA, RNA, and protein from patient samples from different source materials.
  • Preparing and shipping patient biomaterials for local, national, and international shipment.
Requirements

To succeed in this role, you will have:

  • Tertiary qualifications in science or relevant health industry experience.
  • 1+ years of Hospital/Pathology laboratory experience, preferably with patient sample reception and processing.
  • Experience working with PC2 and WHS standards and behavior.
  • Excellent IT skills, including database entry and management.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
  • Organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Flexible attitude to work and willingness to learn.
