Medical Laboratory Scientist Job Description

The Medical Laboratory Scientist is a critical role in delivering operational laboratory activities. They play a key part in the coordination and provision of scientific and technical training, as well as the ongoing review, development, and quality management of laboratory practices to ensure compliance with operational standards and procedures.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Coordinate and provide scientific and technical training to staff.
  • Review, develop, and manage laboratory practices to maintain quality standards.
  • Evaluate and ensure compliance with operational standards and procedures.
  • Collaborate with clinical and laboratory staff to deliver diagnostic services effectively.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree or higher in Science/Medical Laboratory Science or equivalent qualification.
  • Knowledge and experience in pathology service delivery relevant to the laboratory.
  • Excellent customer service approach and effective communication skills.
  • Ability to work in a team environment and independently to deliver results within specified timeframes.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
