Water Design Engineer

We are seeking an experienced Water Design Engineer to join our multidisciplinary team in Newcastle.

The ideal candidate will have expertise in designing water and wastewater treatment plants, reservoirs, hydraulic structures, pump stations, and conveyance pipelines.

Responsibilities include reviewing design requirements, conducting site investigations, calculations, modeling, overseeing drafting, and preparing reports and specifications.

The selected candidate will build strong relationships with clients, demonstrate their ability to understand client needs, and provide solutions and services both on and off site.

Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in civil (structural) engineering
  • A minimum of 10 years' experience in water and wastewater treatment and/or conveyance design
  • Knowledge of safety in design, constructability, and operational practices and relevant Australian standards and WSAA codes
  • Knowledge of risk management with the ability to identify project and design related risks
  • Experience in managing small to medium engineering design projects
  • A commitment to working safely, and within our company's HSEQ systems
  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to collaborate across a multidisciplinary team
  • Well-developed written and verbal communication skills to interact with a broad range of audiences
