Job Opportunity
Our organization is seeking a dedicated professional to provide support and services to children and families in need. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the safety, wellbeing and empowerment of our clients.
Responsibilities
- Ensure the safety and wellbeing of children at all times
- Transport children to appointments, school or other confirmed locations safely
- Provide in-home support to children, carers and families as required
- Supervise access visits with significant others, ensuring the child's safety and wellbeing
- Model parenting skills and techniques to support positive outcomes
- Complete written reports on interactions between the child and their family members during visits
- Mentor and support children and young people in achieving set goals
- Maintain effective communication with management staff and adhere to Mandatory Reporting obligations
Requirements
To be successful in this role, applicants must possess excellent problem-solving skills, exceptional time management abilities and a self-motivated attitude. Ideal candidates will be able to work independently and demonstrate a high level of empathy and understanding.
Essential Criteria
- Certificate IV in Community Services (Welfare) or a related field
- Valid Working With Children's Check for paid employment
- Current National Police Check issued within the last 12 months
- Comprehensive vehicle insurance with at least two anchor points
- Unrestricted drivers licence
- Excellent driving record
- First Aid Kit or willingness to obtain
- Mobile phone with internet access
- Understanding of NSW Child Protection Services laws and Mandatory Reporting requirements
- Excellent communication skills
- High standard of personal presentation
- Minimum availability of 3 weekdays afternoons
- Kindness, empathy and understanding
Desirable Criteria
- Experience working with children and young people or in the Out of Home Care sector
- Fluency in a second language
