Seeking a compassionate and experienced support worker to join our team in providing high-quality care for an elderly gentleman with Parkinson's Disease. The successful applicant will work directly with the client, his families, and friends, reporting to his wife to manage the continuity of care.

The ideal candidate will possess experience and qualifications in aged care, as well as excellent manual handling and falls prevention skills. Fluency in Cantonese is highly desirable, but not essential. The successful applicant must be warm, caring, and reliable, with a strong ability to follow through on commitments.

The role involves assisting the client with daily living activities, such as meal preparation, personal care, light housekeeping, errands, companionship, and transportation. The successful applicant will also be responsible for observing safe usage of the client's wheelchair and walking frame, maintaining cordial relationships with the client's friends and family, and engaging in open communication with the client's wife to ensure the client's needs are met.

The ideal working hours for this position are five days per week, with 6-8 hours per day. The successful applicant will require a National Police Check (Aged Care specific), a NSW Driver's Licence, and a car. Excellent communication skills are essential for this role.

The key responsibilities of this role include:

  • Providing support with Activities of Daily Living
  • Maintaining a safe environment
  • Engaging with the client's friends and family
  • Managing continuity of care

The successful applicant will have the opportunity to make a positive impact on the client's life, providing emotional support and practical assistance to enhance their overall well-being.

This is a permanent part-time position, working 5 days per week with flexible hours. We offer a competitive hourly rate and a supportive team environment.
