Job Opportunity:

We are seeking a talented Mechanical Engineer to join our team on-site in Exmouth.

The successful candidate will be responsible for providing mechanical system expertise and conducting risk assessments of mechanical / structural hazards, regulatory compliance and proposing solutions.

  • As the on-site VLF facility subject matter expert, you will provide timely and effective communication of hazards, defects and design or maintenance deficiencies.
  • You will liaise with management on project engineering issues, design process and engineering change development and execute according to company procedures.
  • Additionally, you will coordinate with mission partners, acting as a key technical liaison and ensuring that the facility is fully integrated into broader mission planning.

The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or equivalent degree with power generation or mechanical systems industry experience. A minimum of six years' experience in operational and/or in-service support phases of major programs, preferably in Defence technology and/or regional/remote power generation related industries is required. Understanding of systems engineering, engineering support, maintenance support, and technical documentation disciplines is also essential.

Desirable experience includes making improvements to processes, systems, or products to enhance performance, willingness to become and maintain a chartered professional engineering status via Engineers Australia, and understanding of different power generation technologies and international power standards.
