Job Description

We are seeking a skilled mechanical engineer to join our team in Exmouth.

The successful candidate will be responsible for serving as the on-site VLF facility subject matter expert, conducting risk assessments and communicating hazards and defects.

This role requires coordination with mission partners, identifying potential issues and areas for improvement, participating in technical reviews and audits, and mentoring engineering and technical staff.

A bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or equivalent is required, along with a minimum of six years' experience in operational and/or in-service support phases of major programs.

Preferred candidates will have understanding of systems engineering, knowledge of product life cycle, and experience with system performance metrics.

Key Responsibilities
  • Serve as the on-site VLF facility subject matter expert
  • Conduct risk assessments of mechanical / structural hazards, regulatory compliance and propose solutions
  • Timely and effective communication of hazards, defects and design or maintenance deficiencies
  • Liaise with management on project engineering issues, design process and engineering change development
  • Coordinate with mission partners, acting as a key technical liaison
  • Identify potential issues and areas for improvement within the VLF mission system
  • Participate in technical reviews and audits
  • Mentor engineering and technical staff
