Job Title: Systems Engineer

This position is a key member of our team providing mechanical system expertise and assisting with issues associated with the VLF facility and interfaces to the VLF mission systems.

  • Serve as the on-site VLF facility subject matter expert by providing mechanical system expertise
  • Conduct risk assessments of mechanical / structural hazards, regulatory compliance and propose solutions.
  • Timely and effective communication of hazards, defects and design or maintenance deficiencies.
  • Liaise with management on project engineering issues, design process and engineering change development and execute according to company and program procedures.
  • Coordinate with mission partners, acting as a key technical liaison and ensuring that the facility is fully integrated into broader mission planning.
  • Identify potential issues and areas for improvement within the VLF mission system.
  • Participate in technical reviews and audits.
  • Mentor engineering and technical staff.

To succeed in this role, you will need to have a Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or equivalent, a minimum of six years' experience in operational and/or in-service support phases of major programs, preferably in Defence technology and/or regional/remote power generation related industries.

You should also have solid skills in relevant business and engineering applications, and be able to infrequently travel to Adelaide and within Australia for business and development related training.
