Key Responsibilities of the eCommerce Manager Role

The eCommerce Manager supports the organization by leading the eCommerce team to produce a world-class online experience for customers that directly leads to profitable outcomes.

  1. Lead digital marketing (eCommerce) initiatives that personalize and optimize the customer journey to increase engagement and sales.
  2. Create and set on-site marketing strategies for all major campaign launches to maximize conversion.
  3. Set OKRs (Objectives & Key Results) that align cross-functional teams with eCommerce sales targets.
  4. Identify emerging trends and track consumer behavior including online shopping trends to inform marketing strategies and promotional initiatives.
  5. Conduct ongoing competitive benchmarketing to ensure campaigns remain competitive and effective.
  6. Review new technologies and identify opportunities to improve eCommerce experience.
  7. Collaborate with Creative and Brand teams to define content strategy and storytelling themes.
  8. Liaise with Merch Planning, Product & Marketing to ensure marketing calendar and new product timelines are met.
  9. Oversee and prioritize all incoming eCommerce feature requests.
  10. Manage all digital datafeeds to optimize product marketing.
Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Several years in eCommerce, digital marketing or online retail operations.
  • Familiarity with platforms like Shopify or Magento.
  • Experience optimizing product pages, checkout flows, and implementing A/B testing.
  • Proficiency in Google Analytics (GA4), Looker Studio, attribution models, and understanding customer metrics.
  • Knowledge of product catalogue management, pricing strategies, and promotions.
  • Skilled in managing stakeholders at all levels, with clear and proactive communication.
  • Awareness of eCommerce trends, consumer behavior, mobile-first UX.
