Job Description

The Assistant Manager plays a crucial role in the daily operation of the cinema, ensuring high levels of customer service and technical supervision. They are responsible for managing day-to-day operations, coordinating group bookings, inventory management, and staff training and development.

The Assistant Manager reports to the General Manager and works closely with internal departments. They are expected to assist the General Manager in carrying out duties and responsibilities during their absence.

  • Supervise all areas of the cinema while on shift.
  • Apply quality control techniques and maintain a high level of cleanliness.
  • Perform work under limited supervision either individually or in a team environment.
  • Apply intelligent approaches to solving complex problems in a timely and precise manner.
  • Be jointly responsible for the administration of the Cinema.
  • Assist in developing and maintaining staff training and standards, and rosters.
  • Assist in developing promotional activities.
  • Maintain high technical standards.
Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Previous Cinema Management / Management experience.
  • High technical aptitude - previous experience with cinema digital projection systems a bonus.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Good computer skills, including Outlook, Word and Excel.
  • Initiative and high attention to detail with the ability to multitask.
  • Experience in managing, and leading Teams, including Staff Roster Management, Recruitment & Training.
  • Proven record of successful hospitality management, meeting financial targets, and delivering exceptional customer service outcomes.
  • Stock control and cash management skills & experience.
