Collections Specialist

About the Role
  • Action accounts in a timely manner and manage own work queue effectively, contributing to the company's overall success.
  • Monitor and report any potential issues or escalations to managers, enabling proactive decision-making.
  • Collaborate with third parties to resolve insurance claims and recover damages, maintaining strong relationships with clients.
  • Negotiate and implement payment arrangements that meet both customer and business needs.
  • Identify customers who may be experiencing hardship or vulnerability, taking steps to provide support and assistance.
  • Respond promptly to customer complaints, resolving issues through effective communication and problem-solving.
  • Conduct research to locate individuals or businesses involved in outstanding accounts.
  • Liaise with external agents for field calls, utilizing effective communication skills to resolve issues efficiently.
  • Assess accounts suitable for legal action, providing expert guidance to clients.
  • Offer guidance and support to clients on recovering their accounts, helping them achieve their goals.
Requirements
  • Proven experience as a debt collector or call center professional, demonstrating a strong understanding of the industry.
  • Experience working in an insurance collections portfolio or for an insurer, showcasing knowledge of business operations and products.
  • A thorough comprehension of insurance business operations and products, enabling informed decision-making.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, facilitating effective collaboration with clients and colleagues.
  • High-level negotiation skills, including rapport building, problem-solving, persuasion, cooperation, and compassion, essential for successful account management.
  • Proficiency in MS Office products, including Outlook, SharePoint, Teams, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, enhancing productivity and efficiency.
  • Experience working with debt collections software and document management systems, streamlining workflow and data management.
