About the Role

The Purchasing and Inventory Planner plays a crucial role in ensuring the timely and efficient acquisition of finished goods and materials for the ANZ region, thereby supporting market demand through a robust supply chain.

Key Responsibilities:

As a Purchasing and Inventory Planner, your responsibilities will include:

  • Maintaining and updating master data records related to suppliers, products, inventory, and pricing, ensuring the accuracy and integrity of all master data.
  • Coordinating internal workflows for the establishment of supplier master data.
  • Utilizing Material Requirements Planning (MRP) systems to manage supply and demand requirements, including maintaining economic order quantities, supplier lead times, safety stock levels, and forecasts.
  • Supporting demand forecasting and planning, and recommending necessary adjustments.
  • Planning, placing, and managing orders with suppliers, including overseeing timelines based on supplier confirmations and business needs.
  • Managing risks associated with backorders and maintaining close communication with commercial teams.
  • Liaising with the Accounts Payable team to ensure the prompt processing of supplier invoices.
  • Collaborating with the Product Management Team to manage inventory levels by monitoring forecasts, reorder methodologies, safety stock, and new product introductions, while highlighting slow-moving inventory.
  • Determining and coordinating the most efficient and cost-effective transportation methods for incoming goods, taking into account in-transit inventory and lead times.
  • Reviewing and developing tools, processes, and strategies to enhance procurement activities, aiming to meet inventory demands, minimize working capital, and improve supplier performance.
  • Measuring supplier performance, analyzing results, and providing timely feedback to suppliers and the business. Leading suppliers in implementing improvement activities to enhance delivery performance and monitoring progress against established goals.

Requirements:

To be considered for this role, you should possess:

  • A minimum of 3-5 years of relevant experience in purchasing and planning, preferably within a global product distribution organization.
  • Experience with SAP is advantageous.
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel.
  • Strong analytical and data management capabilities.
  • A solid understanding of supply chain principles and functions, which will aid in success in this role.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills to effectively engage with stakeholders.
  • Strong time management skills, customer focus, and adaptability.
  • Proven ability to build effective relationships at all levels, both internally and externally.
  • The ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a cross-functional team.
