Opportunity Overview

Our Key Venues division manages all aquatic and leisure facilities. We are dedicated to offering premier activities and program selections, promoting Blacktown City as a leader in sports, recreation, and leisure, while ensuring every visitor enjoys a safe and memorable experience. We are seeking enthusiastic and skilled individuals to join our Key Venues team as Casual Kiosk/Service Assistants at our Aquatic and Leisure Centres.

  • Blacktown Aquatic Centre
  • Charlie Lowles Leisure Centre Emerton
  • Mount Druitt Swimming Centre (seasonal)
  • Riverstone Swimming Centre (seasonal)

Role Responsibilities

As a Kiosk/Service Assistant, you will be expected to exhibit a positive demeanor and effectively communicate information regarding our facilities, services, and programs to customers. The ideal candidate will maintain a clean, enjoyable, and safe working environment. Previous experience in customer service, cash handling, and/or the retail food sector is advantageous.

The role encompasses:

  • Working in both kiosk and reception areas
  • Delivering outstanding service within the aquatic and leisure context
  • Flexible hours based on operational requirements and availability

Qualifications and Experience

Essential:

  • Strong oral communication skills
  • Excellent customer service abilities
  • Experience in handling cash
  • Current Working with Children Check

Desirable:

  • Valid driver's license
  • Computer proficiency
  • Current CPR Certification
  • Current First Aid Certification
  • Oxygen Equipment Certification
  • Food Handling Certification
  • Ability to collaborate effectively within a team
  • Willingness to work flexible hours

Compensation and Benefits

The salary and employment conditions align with Blacktown City Council's Enterprise Agreement.

  • Entry-level pay for this position starts at a competitive hourly rate plus a 25% casual loading
  • Penalty rates apply for weekend shifts
  • Trainee rates are available for applicants under 19 years of age
  • Casual working hours
  • Employee benefits include leave entitlements (where applicable), an 11.5% employer contribution to your nominated superannuation fund, Fitness Passport, gym membership discounts, and access to social clubs

This position is classified as child-related work, in accordance with the Child Protection (Working with Children) Regulation 2013. Therefore, your application must include a Working with Children Check (WWCC) number.
