Position Overview

The Key Venues section manages our aquatic and leisure facilities, ensuring a premier selection of activities and programs. We promote Blacktown City as a leader in sports, recreation, and leisure, providing every visitor with a safe and memorable experience. We are seeking enthusiastic and experienced individuals to join our Key Venues team as Casual Kiosk/Service Assistants at our Aquatic and Leisure Centres.

  • Charlie Lowles Leisure Centre Emerton
  • Mount Druitt Swimming Centre (seasonal)
  • Riverstone Swimming Centre (seasonal)

Role Responsibilities

As a Kiosk/Service Assistant, you will embody a positive demeanor and effectively communicate information regarding our facilities, services, and programs to customers. The ideal candidate will maintain a clean, enjoyable, and safe working environment. Previous experience in customer service, cash handling, or the retail food sector is advantageous.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Working in both kiosk and reception areas
  • Delivering outstanding service within the aquatic and leisure context
  • Flexible hours based on operational needs and personal availability

Qualifications and Skills

Essential:

  • Strong verbal communication skills
  • Excellent customer service abilities
  • Experience with cash handling
  • Current Working with Children Check

Desirable:

  • Valid driver's license
  • Computer proficiency
  • Current CPR certification
  • Current First Aid certification
  • Oxygen Equipment certification
  • Food Handling certification
  • Ability to collaborate effectively within a team
  • Willingness to work flexible hours

Compensation and Benefits

The salary and employment conditions are aligned with Blacktown City Council's Enterprise Agreement.

  • Entry-level pay starts at $ per hour plus a 25% casual loading
  • Penalty rates apply for weekend shifts
  • Trainee rates for applicants under 19 years of age
  • Casual working hours
  • Employee benefits include leave entitlements (where applicable), an 11.5% employer contribution to your superannuation fund, Fitness Passport, gym membership discounts, and social clubs

This position is classified as child-related work, necessitating a Working with Children Check (WWCC) number as part of the application process.
