We are seeking a Senior Consultant to join our team in the Climate Change and Sustainability department. As a key member of our division, you will be responsible for effectively managing clients, projects, and staff, with a focus on climate change, sustainability, energy, and environment-related engagements.
Key Responsibilities:- Conduct various risk consulting and assurance engagements (e.g., assurance, internal audit, consulting, and compliance) simultaneously with numerous engagement team members, including planning, execution, and scheduling staff.
- Assist on limited and reasonable assurance engagements under the National Greenhouse and Energy Reporting Scheme (NGERS), the Energy Savings Scheme (ESS), the Australian Carbon Credit Unit (ACCU) Scheme, Safeguard Mechanism, Accounting for Nature, Climate Active, and the Renewable Energy Target (RET) for clients in a timely and professional manner.
- Advise on ESG, sustainable management, and procurement to satisfy the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and sustainability reporting under frameworks such as the Australian Sustainability Reporting Standards, Global Reporting Initiative (GRI), and Task Force on Climate-related Financial Disclosures (TCFD).
- Advise on risks and opportunities related to the effects of climate change.
- Manage and co-ordinate the team, including training, mentoring, and methodology compliance.
- Maintain strong budgetary discipline, ensuring there are no major overruns and ability to plan effective and realistic budgets.
- Monitor the team's staffing requirements and future resource planning issues.
- Work with and influence clients at senior levels in different business environments.
- Perform technical and operational reviews for a range of clients with differing risk profiles.
- Complete Engagement Files (i.e., electronic working papers) within a timely manner for Manager/Partner review.
- Summarize the key areas of the engagement for the Partner/Director/Manager.
- Identify potential issues and document issue and proposed recommendation for Partner/Management attention.
- Draft engagement reports in conjunction with Partner/Director/Manager that provide practical and commercial business advice.
- Identify and refer ethical and conflict issues to Partner/Director and/or Manager.
- Develop a detailed understanding of client systems, processes, and internal control environment.
- Keep up-to-date with key industry factors.
- Assist Partner/Director and/or Managers in business development and marketing activities.
- Contribute to meetings and make effective presentations.
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Commerce, Environmental Science, or Engineering.
- Completed Chartered Accountant (CA) or relevant equivalent.
- Minimum 3 years' experience in assurance or advisory services, preferably in Professional Services or a relevant industry position.
- Strong passion for ESG, carbon emissions, environmental, and energy compliance and reporting requirements and legislation.
- Excellent communication skills, written and verbal.
- Strong process mapping and problem-solving skills.
A competitive salary is offered, ranging from $120,000 to $160,000 per annum, depending on experience.
