This is a critical role within the Australia and New Zealand Banking Group Limited (ANZ), focusing on leading the development and implementation of climate scenario analysis for the organization. In this position, you will work closely with key stakeholders across the bank to assess potential climate-related risks, opportunities, and impacts using scenario analysis.

This role is accountable and responsible for:

  • Collaborating with internal teams and external consultants to develop an approach to climate scenario analysis and stress testing that aligns with regulatory requirements and industry standards.
  • Leveraging expertise in climate risk and scenario analysis to drive strategic priorities for the bank.
  • Designing and implementing metrics, methodologies, and models that reflect the bank's portfolio and risk profile, incorporating the latest research and best practices.
  • Integrating insights from scenario analysis into the bank's risk management framework, including policies, processes, and decision-making.
  • Providing subject matter expertise on climate scenario analysis to various stakeholders within the organization.
  • Advising senior management and risk committees on climate scenario analysis outcomes, emerging trends, regulatory developments, and industry best practices.

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Extensive banking experience, particularly in roles such as stress testing, credit risk modeling, risk reporting, or consulting.
  • Demonstrated numerical, analytical, and critical thinking skills to extract valuable insights from complex data and effectively communicate them to senior stakeholders.
  • Proven ability to build cross-functional relationships and influence others through collaboration.
  • Experience in leading self and others in delivering change, with a focus on achieving results.
  • Strong interpersonal, presentation, and communication skills, with a track record of managing competing responsibilities under pressure.

Additionally, having experience, knowledge, and understanding of climate risk and scenario analysis, as well as staying up-to-date with emerging global industry insights and trends, would be beneficial. However, it is not a requirement.
