About the Opportunity

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Marketing and Communications Coordinator to join our team at Western Downs Regional Council. As a key member of our Communications and Marketing Team, you will play a critical role in developing and implementing strategic marketing and communications plans to drive awareness and engagement with our community.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement strategic marketing and communications plans to drive measurable improvements in service awareness, positive social media engagement, and brand visibility.
  • Plan, manage, and deliver digital content across various platforms, including website, social media, and email, to engage and inform our community.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to develop and implement effective communication strategies to support business objectives.
  • Develop and maintain the Council's brand hierarchy, style guides, and regional signage manual to ensure consistency across all marketing materials.
  • Assist with the formulation and annual review of the Council's disaster response crisis communication plans to ensure a fast, effective, and comprehensive mobilization and messaging.
Requirements
  • Relevant tertiary qualification in Marketing, Strategic Communication, Public Relations, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in marketing and communications, with a strong understanding of digital marketing channels and social media platforms.
  • Excellent communication and project management skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret data and develop effective marketing strategies.
  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, with experience in content creation and design.
