Enterprise Database Management Role

We are seeking a seasoned database expert to oversee the management of our enterprise databases. As a highly skilled professional, you will be responsible for installing, configuring, and upgrading databases, as well as creating and managing database instances, schemas, and security roles.

Key Responsibilities
  • Database Administration
    • Install, configure, and upgrade databases.
    • Create and manage database instances, schemas, and security roles.
  • Backup & Recovery
    • Implement backup, restore, and disaster recovery strategies.
    • Regularly test recovery procedures.
  • Performance & Optimisation
    • Analyse execution plans, indexes, and queries.
    • Optimise storage and memory usage.
  • High Availability & Replication
    • Manage clustering, replication, and failover solutions.
    • Monitor uptime and ensure SLA compliance.
  • Security & Compliance
    • Apply patches and security updates.
    • Implement access controls, encryption, and auditing.
  • Collaboration & Support
    • Support database design and query optimisation.
    • Provide L2/L3 support for production incidents and troubleshooting.
  • Documentation & Automation
    • Maintain proper documentation.
    • Automate repetitive tasks using scripts or tools.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field.
  • 10-15 years of experience in a similar role.
  • Minimum 10 years of Oracle and 8 years of SQL experience.
  • Strong SQL and PL/SQL or T-SQL scripting skills.
  • Experience with performance tuning and query optimisation.
  • Knowledge of Linux/Unix and Windows environments.
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, or OCI).
