Job Title: Safety Officer - National Building Support

About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Safety Officer to join our team at National Building Support. As a Safety Officer, you will play a critical role in ensuring the health and safety of our employees, contractors, and clients on our construction sites.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Implement and maintain a comprehensive Work Health and Safety Management System (WHSMS) to ensure compliance with relevant laws and regulations.
  • Conduct regular site inspections and audits to identify potential hazards and implement controls to mitigate risks.
  • Provide guidance and training to site staff on WHS procedures and protocols.
  • Investigate incidents and near-miss events to identify root causes and implement corrective actions.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with contractors and suppliers to ensure they are aware of and comply with WHS requirements.
  • Collaborate with the WHS Manager to develop and implement WHS policies and procedures.
  • Conduct regular reporting and analysis of WHS performance metrics to identify trends and areas for improvement.

Requirements:

  • Diploma in Occupational Health and Safety or equivalent.
  • Completed and hold a White Card, trade or scaffold ticket.
  • First Aid Certificate.
  • Residential construction experience.
  • Valid driver's license.
  • Extensive knowledge of WHS Management Systems and relevant laws and regulations.
  • High computer proficiency in MS Office suite of products.
