Job Title: Safety Officer - National Building Support
About the Role:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Safety Officer to join our team at National Building Support. As a Safety Officer, you will play a critical role in ensuring the health and safety of our employees, contractors, and clients on our construction sites.
Key Responsibilities:
- Implement and maintain a comprehensive Work Health and Safety Management System (WHSMS) to ensure compliance with relevant laws and regulations.
- Conduct regular site inspections and audits to identify potential hazards and implement controls to mitigate risks.
- Provide guidance and training to site staff on WHS procedures and protocols.
- Investigate incidents and near-miss events to identify root causes and implement corrective actions.
- Develop and maintain relationships with clients, contractors, and stakeholders to promote a culture of safety and well-being.
- Collaborate with the WHS Manager to develop and implement safety policies and procedures.
- Monitor and report on WHS performance metrics and provide recommendations for improvement.
Requirements:
- Diploma in Occupational Health and Safety or equivalent qualification.
- Completed White Card, trade, or scaffold ticket.
- First Aid Certificate.
- Residential construction experience.
- Valid driver's license.
- Extensive knowledge of WHS Management Systems and relevant laws and regulations.
- High computer proficiency in MS Office suite of products.
