Heavy Equipment Supervisor Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced Heavy Equipment Supervisor to join our team in Mackay. This role involves leading and supervising a team of technicians working on Komatsu 830E/930E haul trucks and other OEM fleets.

  • The successful candidate will have a trade qualification as a Diesel Fitter (Cert III or equivalent) and a minimum of 2 years' experience in a similar role.
  • A strong background in fault-finding, diagnostic, and component rebuild capabilities is essential.
  • Excellent leadership and organizational skills, with the ability to motivate and coordinate workshop teams in a busy environment, are also required.
About the Role

This is a full-time opportunity, Monday to Friday, with a competitive hourly rate and overtime available.

You will be responsible for allocating and managing daily tasks, ensuring maximum workshop efficiency and quality assurance requirements are met.

Safety protocols and housekeeping standards will be a key focus area, as well as maintaining detailed records of job scopes, parts used, labour hours, and compliance documentation.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and supervise a team of diesel fitters and trades assistants.
  • Allocate and manage daily tasks based on workload and technician capability.
  • Provide technical leadership, troubleshooting support, and hands-on guidance across major components and complete machine rebuilds.
  • Ensure all jobs meet quality assurance requirements and are delivered on schedule.
  • Maintain detailed records of job scopes, parts used, labour hours, and compliance documentation.

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Minimum 2 years' experience in a similar role.
  • Trade qualification as a Diesel Fitter (Cert III or equivalent).
