About our Job Opportunity

We are seeking a professional to develop and execute a subcontracting strategy for on-site electrical and mechanical erection packages. The ideal candidate will have experience in procurement of large electrical and mechanical erection packages in large construction projects.

Job Summary

The successful candidate will be responsible for managing subcontractors and interfaces to perform erection packages safely, within schedule, quality requirements, and contract obligations. Key responsibilities include developing erection subcontracting strategies, coordinating procurement processes, and ensuring mobilization of subcontractors according to schedule and IR requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop erection subcontracting strategies and division of scope for on-site electrical and mechanical portion
  • Coordinate and execute subcontracting process for large erection packages from technical and contractual perspectives
  • Act as primary point of contact for subcontractors and ensure their work execution as per business and project priorities
  • Monitor activities and progress/performance of subcontractors and review progress reports against own assessment
  • Manage claims with subcontractors, approve timesheets, and monitor performance/invoicing

Requirements:

  • Engineering degree (Civil or Mechanical) or Project Management degree (MBA, P. Eng., or similar)
  • High level of experience in procurement of large electrical and mechanical erection packages in large construction projects
  • Desirable: experience in Australian market on subcontractor management, Construction and/or Electrical and Mechanical, contractual and commercial skills, education, and/or experience

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Fluent English language skills; additional languages beneficial

Location: Cooma, initially, then full-time located at site when operations and subcontractors start

Reporting Lines: Commercial Manager based in Cooma, matrix reporting line to General Site Manager when located at site
