Electrical and Mechanical Systems Specialist Role:
This position plays a crucial role in the Fleet Operations team, focusing on identifying, diagnosing, and resolving issues within electrical, mechanical, structural, and technological systems on all Sydney Trains electric train fleet types.
To succeed in this challenging role, applicants must possess a minimum of three years' experience in electric train maintenance and hold a Certificate III qualification in either a Mechanical or Electrical trade. A strong technical background and excellent analytical skills are essential for effective fault detection and solution implementation across both mechanical and electrical systems.
Key Responsibilities:
- Investigate, diagnose, and resolve in-service problems and defects to electrical, mechanical, structural, and technological systems, equipment, and components on all Sydney Trains electric train fleet types.
- Conduct in-service repairs, including inspections and pre-departure checks, and complete relevant reporting and documentation for work conducted.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Minimum three years' experience in electric train maintenance with a Certificate III qualification in Mechanical or Electrical trades.
- Ability to work on a 24/7 rotating roster, including night shifts, weekends, and public holidays, to support continuous operations.
