About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and skilled professional to lead our Development Assessment Team at the City of Coffs Harbour. As a Senior Development Assessment Manager, you will play a key role in shaping the future of our city by providing expert planning advice to the community and overseeing the assessment and determination of development applications.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide Expert Planning Advice: Offer strategic guidance to the community on development-related matters, ensuring that our city's growth and development align with its vision and goals.
  • Lead Development Assessment Team: Oversee the day-to-day activities of the Development Assessment Team, mentoring and supporting staff to ensure they have the skills and knowledge needed to excel in their roles.
  • Collaborate with Stakeholders: Work closely with other sections of the City, including the Development Assessment Section, to improve and enhance the development assessment service, systems, and processes.
  • Drive Business Improvement: Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement changes to increase efficiency and effectiveness in the development assessment process.
What We Offer
  • Attractive Salary Range: $111k to $121k per annum, plus 11.5% Superannuation.
  • Permanent Full-Time Position: 35 hours per week.

Essential Qualifications and Experience
  • Tertiary Qualifications: Urban and regional planning or equivalent.

  • Previous Leadership Experience: Previous experience in a leadership role, preferably in a development assessment or urban planning context.
