The successful candidate will lead the development and continuous improvement of integrated QHSE systems. They will ensure regulatory compliance, foster a strong safety and environmental culture, and drive strategic enhancements across all QHSE areas.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Champion a culture of safety, quality, and environmental awareness.
  2. Lead the development and continuous improvement of integrated QHSE systems.
  3. Set and monitor QHSE strategies, objectives, and targets.
  4. Advise senior leaders on QHSE matters.
  5. Conduct internal audits and site inspections.
  6. Develop and implement QHSE policies and procedures.
  7. Support emergency and business continuity planning.
  8. Manage QHSE records and ensure compliance programs are effective.
  9. Audit contractor QHSE documentation and performance.
  10. Maintain a compliant and fit-for-purpose Integrated Management System (IMS) aligned with WHS, environmental legislation, and ISO standards.
  11. Implement QHSE programs per legal and corporate requirements.
  12. Identify and manage QHSE risks across the business.
  13. Keep senior leaders informed of risk exposure and mitigation.
  14. Deliver regular and ad hoc QHSE reports.
  15. Review internal controls for compliance and effectiveness.
  16. Build strong relationships with contractors, regulators, and government bodies.
  17. Issue stop work orders when safety is compromised.
  18. Participate in industry committees and regulatory development.
  19. Monitor and assess legal compliance with WHS and environmental standards.
  20. Report non-compliances internally and externally.
Requirements
  • A bachelor's degree in a relevant field, strong knowledge of QHSE standards and regulations, and proven leadership in cultivating a safety-first culture.
Desirable Qualifications
  • Master's degree in Occupational Health and Safety with expertise in Safety, Industrial Hygiene, Ergonomics, Psychosociology.
  • Practical experience with WHS and environmental legislation, codes of practice, and Australian Standards.
  • Sector experience in energy or renewables.
  • Skilled in inspection, auditing, and testing within QHSE environments.
  • Experience implementing corrective action programs.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, process control applications, and databases.
  • Strong data analysis and statistical skills.
  • Experienced in developing and documenting process control materials (e.g., policies, procedures, plans, manuals).
