Job Role:

The HSE Partner role is based in Sydney, Australia. It involves partnering with the business to lead the effective implementation and execution of health, safety, and environmental policy and strategy in an industrial setting.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Act as a trusted advisor and custodian of standards, leading the implementation and maintenance of health, safety, and environmental strategies and improvement plans
  • Support the rollout of HSE policies, ensuring compliance with all procedures
  • Coach and mentor leaders and teams from management level through to the shop floor to achieve health, safety, and environmental objectives, while collaborating with stakeholders to identify and address risks
  • Lead reporting and investigations of hazards, incidents, and injuries/illnesses, and ensure follow-ups are completed
  • Maintain compliance with relevant regulations and collaborate with regulatory agencies during inspections and audits, keeping accurate records of safety inspections, permits, and licenses
  • Drive continuous improvement in health, safety, and environmental culture

Required Skills And Qualifications:

  • Extensive experience in an HSE business partner or operational role, preferably in a complex, high-risk environment, ideally within an industrial or manufacturing setting
  • Demonstrable knowledge and experience in the fields of health, safety, and environment, management systems, and relevant legislation
  • Solid understanding of injury management, workers compensation, and health promotion
  • Relevant tertiary qualification in work health and safety, risk management, or related field
  • Ability to obtain Australian Defence Clearances
  • Ability to on-site presence during the working week
