Job Title: Chief Economic Strategist

Key Responsibilities:

  • Monitoring economic data and developing models that inform the fund's economic outlook and investment strategy
  • Conducting thematic research on macroeconomic trends, asset allocation and financial markets
  • Translating economic insights into actionable ideas that support member outcomes
  • Clearly communicating research and modelling outputs to a wide range of stakeholders

Requirements:

  • A background in economics, econometrics, finance or mathematics with 2-5 years' experience in economic research and forecasting is required
  • The ideal candidate will be skilled in building economic models and using statistical tools and data sources
  • Proficiency in R, familiarity with Python, SQL and MATLAB is highly desirable
  • An analytical mindset and willingness to explore new ideas and perspectives to improve understanding are essential
  • Strong attention to detail and a focus on outcomes are also important
  • Effective communication skills, including the ability to engage diverse audiences with clarity and insight, are crucial
  • Integrity, curiosity and a genuine commitment to improving member outcomes are key characteristics of the ideal candidate
