Executive Director

As a key member of our Economics Leadership Team, you will play a pivotal role in driving business growth and promoting our economic offerings to customers.

  • You will partner with key stakeholders to ensure the delivery of high-quality economic research and insights to internal and external audiences.
  • Act as a delegate for the Chief Economist at meetings and presentations when required.
  • Stay up-to-date on domestic economic developments and deliver presentations/commentary on economic outlooks to various audiences.
  • Develop strong relationships between Westpac Economics and commercial banking and SME businesses to ensure alignment of economic offerings.
  • Own and coordinate the Quarterly Business Snapshot publication (and any future publications intended for the commercial customer audience).
  • Partner with Westpac NZ Economics to ensure synergies with NZ industry insights work.
  • Lead the development of potential inputs to industry economics insights, including qualitative insights from customer meetings and internal data.
  • Lead the distillation of internal data and insights to inform Westpac Economics forecasts and publications.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Collaborate with ELT and key stakeholders to ensure quality assurance across team delivery.
  2. Support the Economics team with capability uplift through leadership, coaching, and mentoring.
  3. Deliver presentations/commentary on economic developments and outlook to customers, internal stakeholders, and media outlets.
  4. Manage the interaction between Westpac Economics and commercial banking and SME businesses to ensure effective delivery of economic offerings.
  5. Coordinate the Quarterly Business Snapshot publication.
  6. Partner with Westpac NZ Economics to ensure synergies with NZ industry insights work.
  7. Develop potential inputs to industry economics insights.
  8. Distill internal data and insights to inform Westpac Economics forecasts and publications.
