Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced and compassionate House Manager to lead our Intensive Therapeutic Care team in Newcastle. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for providing guidance and support to our youth support workers, ensuring the delivery of high-quality therapeutic care to children and young people in our care.
About the Role
As House Manager, you will be responsible for:
- Managing the home environment in accordance with the CARE model, legislation, and relevant standards
- Providing direct care and support to children and young people within a residential care setting
- Overseeing and participating in the planning and implementation of therapeutic care plans
- Modeling and supporting staff in applying the Therapeutic Crisis Intervention (TCI) system
- Managing, supporting, and providing reflective supervision to your team
- Creating and maintaining rostering and staff availability patterns to ensure rosters are within budget and support healthy work-life balance for all team members
Requirements
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- A Diploma of Community Services, Youth work, or related field (a qualification is desirable but not essential for Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander applicants with relevant experience)
- Previous leadership experience in services that support children and young people, such as OOHC and ITC settings
- Experience supporting people with disabilities, complex health needs, and those who exhibit pain-based behaviors of concern
- Ability to provide supervision and support to a team of Therapeutic Care Workers, to embed the delivery of therapeutic models of support to children and young people
- Current First Aid (HLTAID003 or HLTAID011) & CPR (HLTAID001 OR HLTAID009) Certificate/s
- Current Driver's License
