The role of a Business Intelligence Specialist plays a crucial part in delivering informed solutions to healthcare challenges. The position is based within the Analytics and Performance Unit at Royal North Shore Hospital, where it focuses on extracting valuable insights from data to drive decision making.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Extracting relevant data and providing expert analysis on patient activity, hospital occupancy, and performance metrics.
  • Collaborating closely with the Manager of the Analytics and Performance Unit to ensure timely delivery of reports that meet the needs of stakeholders.
  • Demonstrating behaviours that align with the CORE Values of Collaboration, Openness, Respect, and Empowerment when interacting with colleagues and external partners.

Requirements:

  • A tertiary qualification in a field such as Business, Information Management, Science, or Health-related discipline, or significant experience working in a performance reporting team.
  • Developed analytical, conceptual, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify trends and issues, and report risks to inform responsive service management and planning.
  • Ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines and independently as part of a collaborative team.
