About the Role

Public Sector People is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Lead Internal Auditor to join our team. As a key member of our Business Assurance & Governance team, you will play a critical role in ensuring the effectiveness of our internal audit function.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and Implement Internal Audit Plans: Manage the development and delivery of a comprehensive internal audit plan, in consultation with the Executive Leadership Team and Audit and Risk Committee.
  • Support and Monitor Audit Activities: Support, monitor, and report to the Audit and Risk Committee, Chief Executive Officer, and the Executive Leadership Team on the results, recommendations, and actions for each completed audit.
  • Provide Secretariat Support: Provide secretariat support for the Audit and Risk Committee meetings, ensuring adherence to the Charter and Terms of Reference.
  • Validate Control Measures: Validate the effectiveness of existing control measures, identify business risks, gaps, or deficiencies, and recommend control measures for the organization.
Requirements:
  • Tertiary Qualifications: Tertiary qualifications in a relevant field and/or equivalent experience.
  • Internal Audit Experience: Experience in the development and implementation of strategic internal audit plans.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills that demonstrate ability to consult, negotiate at all levels within the organization.
  • High Ethical Integrity: High ethical integrity, reliability, and trustworthiness.
  • Ability to Work Independently: Demonstrated ability to work independently.
